ISONET Z is a plant-protection product used to control leopard moth, Zeuzera pyrina, and currant clearwing, Synanthedon tipuliformis, through mating disruption. It is a controlled-release dispenser that emits the synthetic sex pheromone specific to these insects, preventing males from locating females and drastically reducing mating and subsequent infestation. Mating disruption allows a sharp reduction in the use of traditional insecticides, making the product ideal for organic and integrated agriculture. The dispensers, made of two plastic-polymer microcapillaries, release pheromones that saturate the environment. Males, confused by the strong pheromone presence everywhere, cannot find females for mating.
