Used in gardening and horticulture to cover the soil around plants, shrubs or trees. It maintains soil moisture, inhibits weed growth and, as it slowly decomposes (biodegradable), enriches the soil with organic matter. The mat provides excellent thermal insulation, protecting the roots and pots of potted plants from frost, intense cold and winter winds. As it is a natural fiber, it degrades over time. It allows water and air to pass through, which is essential for soil health. It is used for slope containment. Available in 5/6 mm thickness with 650 g/m2 weight.
