It is a biological systemic insecticide based on azadirachtin, extracted from Neem seeds, used to control aphids, thrips, leafhoppers, noctuid moths and whitefly on vegetable, fruit and ornamental crops. It acts as an insect growth regulator (IGR), inhibiting moulting, and also has repellent and anti-feeding action. It acts by contact and ingestion, inhibiting the formation of ecdysone, an essential hormone for pre-adult insect development. It is absorbed by the roots and translocated to the aerial parts of the plant, ensuring prolonged protection.
